FAQ

  • What is bookkeeping?

Bookkeeping is the process of recording, organizing, and maintaining a business’s financial records. Bookkeepers are specially trained professionals that handle the bookkeeping which includes but is not limited to:

    Recording sales and invoices

    Recording payments

    Reconciling

    Paying bills

    Processing payroll

    Organizing accounting records

    Preparing financial statements

    Prep for your accountant

Clean-up messy books (especially for audits)

  • Why do I need bookkeeping?

If bookkeeping is starting to feel like a second job, and you’re beginning to feel overwhelmed with questions and errors, IT”S TIME. Bookkeepers take this work off your hands and ensure it’s correct and STAYS THAT WAY.

“Without proper bookkeeping, you’re just guessing.”

  • Who do you help?

Service-based small businesses and creative entrepreneurs who are in their growth phase — designers, consultants, photographers, coaches, authors, and creative agencies building something from within.

Who's a great fit? Businesses with fewer than 15 employees, structured as a sole prop, LLC, or S-Corp.

Who's not a great fit? Larger businesses, companies with bigger teams or more complex structures. At that stage, you'll need a more robust accounting team — and I'll gladly help you find one.

  • Do you offer in-person services?

    Yes!

If you’re located in the Hartford/Tolland County area in Connecticut, we can schedule our meetings locally if in person meetings are more comfortable for you.

We also offer 100% virtual bookkeeping services if that plan is more convenient for you. This means we can do bookkeeping for any state in the US.

  • How much is this going to cost?

Here at Ledger Leaf we want to be as transparent as possible with our prices. With that being said, every business is different, and has different needs.
